Kyla

Thursday, January 27th
My first day of training was yesterday morning at the Field House in Saskatoon. I walked for 5, then ran 1 walked one 7 times, then walked for 8. It was really awesome. I discovered that The Beatles are ideal work out companions. Never paced too fast, never too slow, recognizable without wanting to REALLY sing along. I also had the companionship of the Cardiovascular Rehab Club (CARD) with me on the track so it was nice to have soo many old people to beat. I felt like a superstar. Especially when I would pass the one old guy wheeling his oxygen tank behind him. Eat My Dust.

My Rocky Mountain Soap Company training coincides with a workout designed by my physio to help strengthen my giraffe back.

MY GOALS:

(1)To not stop during the RMSC women's
(2)To make my physio proud of my strenghening progress.
(3)To not see muffin top where there was once no muffin top.

This hangs in my bathroom.
It is a picture of inspiration.

Friday January 28th.
Yesterday my two little ones got immunized and Violette was up thorughout the night vomiting and sweating. Needless to say this killed my ability to get to the gym this morning. I will aim for tonight. I have been considering using a treadmill on an incline to help me prepare for the hills of Alberta vs. the scats of the lander.
Scatlander is a term for Saskatchewanian, as well as Saskabusher. I am not sure how universal a term this is, but I do have friends from Prince Rupert B.C. that use it exclusively.

I Made it!
Just got back from the gym, used the treadmill for the first time. Only once did I nearly go off the back, but that was becasue of MP3 player problems. I can't walk and do that either.
SO:

On Sunday I will begin Week 3 of the Sun Run program as I am in such remarkable shape that I jettisoned past week's 1.5.

Monday, January 31st.
Ellia has left for Winter Camp this morning and it is -32. poor little buggers.

Went to the gym this morning and did day one of week 3 workout, which looks like this
W-5; R-3/W-2 X7 ; W-5

That was one hell of a jump in the running. At least one lung was protesting and I can't help but feel that my runner's form is a bit strange. Half the time I feel like I am trying to stop diarrhea from running down my leg. I am constantly telling myself to relax in the hips and inner thighs. When I was young I always considered myself to be really 'out there', but now I see that I have a stick shoved up my a$$.

HOWEVER. I did make it through all 7 of my 3 minute runs!

Monday, February 7th

I haven't been in the gym for awhile. I was out of town and then Jeff was working, and then I fell out of routine. It took 2 days to get back in the gym, but I am back.
Following the program: W-5; R-2/W-2 X6; W-5 today.
It was good, it was nice to run 2 after being out, I think I needed a little slack. I could really tell the difference in my mood! I was pretty lethargic this last week and today after going to the gym I did so much stuff aorund the house and feel as though my energy has been replenished. As a stay at home mom, or homemaker/housewife as the 50's liked to call it, I find it difficult to do things for myself. So much is given to family and home and I find it difficult to give to myself. I know, I know, Oprah talks abou t it all the time. It sucks to be a cliche.

Here, does this fit the cliche??
